Common female bladder problems

Far too many women have urinary problems. In fact, 50 % of all women in the world will get urinary tract infection at least once in their lives*. Less frequently talked about, but just as common is leakage or incontinence.

The need to suddenly rush to the toilet, the inability to participate in certain gym classes, the undesired side-effect of violent sneezing. Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) are not only unpleasant, they can be perceived as terribly embarrassing. And much more common in women than in men.

Yet some women have the opposite problem – retention. In other words, problems emptying the bladder. In severe cases when muscles are too weak to function properly this is referred to as Atonic bladder.
