Important insights after a day in a wheelchair

What happens when you put your CEO in a wheelchair? He accepts the challenge, goes all in, and crashes into his teammates... But that's not all. The lingering feeling is a great humility. Don't miss the movie from a day in a wheelchair!

We can never fully understand the challenges our catheter-users face every day, and it's not only about bladder and bowel management. When you suffer an injury or illness, things change. A lot. You might need to quit your job or an interest that you have. Maybe you have lost mobility or even the ability to walk, and need to use a wheelchair.

We want to know as much as possible about you and your needs, and therefor we decided to put ourselves in your shoes for a day. We asked RG Aktiv Rehabilitering to hold a wheelchair course for us – people from all parts of Wellspect – to at least try to understand, and hopefully gain some new insights.

In his 30's our teacher Pierre Samuelsson was run over by a train, but he miraculously recovered and started a new hobby – running marathons in a wheelchair. So we were in safe hands when Pierre and his colleague John Högberg took care of us for a day. And one thing is for sure – we were very humble when we stood up from the wheelchairs in the afternoon. We realize that not everyone can do that.
