ESPU 2018: Children and Urology

Once a year, the Urology world holds it's event focusing on children – the ESPU Congress. This year we're going to the 'Land of a thousand lakes' - the Finnish capital of Helsinki.

The annual ESPU Congress is where Paediatric Urology Doctors and Nurses gather from all over the world. Both ESPU (the European Society for Paediatric Urology) and ESPU-N (the Nurses' organization) will run involved scientific programs and workshops at the congress in Helsinki on April 11-14.

Opening course

We at Wellspect are happy to sponsor the ESPU-N Opening Course: 'Understanding and talking to the teenager', where Pedagogue and Adolescent expert Marina Van Der Wal shares her insights. Wellspect will also give a short presentation.

Research Grant

As well as sharing knowledge and experience between nurses interested in paediatric urology and continence, ESPU-N supports nurses in their profession and research. That's why ESPU-N and Wellspect decided to start a Research Grant together.

"Nurses are occupied with their daily work, but research can be a part of their clinical work. For example, an observational study in their own clinic could be shared with others through documentation." says Anna-Karin Sundin, Director of Medical Affairs and Clinical Education at Wellspect.

The ESPU Nurses Research Grant was announced at last year's ESPU congress, and the first winner is now appointed, so stay put – we will announce the winning application at the ESPU Congress on Thursday, April 12, at 13.40.
