For most of us, 2020 was a truly challenging year, for some of us more than others. We support people suffering from continence issues - our users are dependent upon our essential products, everyday. As well as dealing with the pandemic, they also have obstacles to navigate every day, year in, year out. For them, our products are vital for quality of life. Our goal is to make a real difference, every single day. With the help of our products, our users enjoy a more free, more independent life.
We are proud of the fact that in spite of the pandemic and the challenges it proposed, we were able to maintain delivery volumes and ensure the health and well-being of our users.
With the help of our dedicated employees, we were able to set this up in a very short time
Svenn Poulsen, Group Vice President of Wellspect
As soon as the Covid-19 pandemic struck, we were forced to reconsider how we protect the health and safety of our employees and customers, while at the same time preserving our ability to produce and supply products that are vital to people who need them every day.
Immediately, we identified three priorities.
- Priority #1 Ensuring the delivery of our products to users
- Priority #2 Keeping our production running
- Priority #3 Protecting the safety of our employees involved in production, quality control, maintenance and other critical supporting functions that keep our production running
Staff on site were swiftly reduced to a minimum and those of us who can perform our tasks off-site have been working from home since the middle of March 2020.
To meet the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Dentsply Sirona Corporate management team met regularly to monitor the evolving situation and set up a crisis information hub, with regular communications to all employees about progress and company policy. This included a flexible work arrangement policy and prevention guides to maintain a healthy work environment.
At our Wellspect sites, we adapted planned activities to fulfil all requirements for maintaining well-being for all employees, on site, and working remotely. Focusing our efforts, we provided local activities such as inspirational and engaging webinars. To strengthen the resilience of employees to meet the challenges of the pandemic, the company provided and encouraged different wellness activities such as mental health training and ergonomic awareness for when working from home.
It has been heartening and motivating to see how we’re managing and succeeding
It’s been hard at all levels of society. Above all, the pandemic is a tragedy for so many people, including our own employees. We are so grateful for the understanding and support between our colleagues and teams.
The measures were wholly accepted by our employees, and we took collective pride in this unified effort to protect our production, since we know that our products are critical for those who rely on them.
Jimmy Pedersen, Vice President, Manufacturing & Supply Chain
