patients with bowel problems. With this new solution, Navina™ Systems, Wellspect HealthCare enters a new therapy area.
For more than 30 years we have met people with bladder problems and their doctors. During these years we have seen that many also face problems managing their bowel, and what impact that has on their lives. Besides physical discomfort, the mental stress for people with bowel dysfunction is huge.
The therapy
We have also seen what a great therapy transanal irrigation (TAI)* can be, and that is why we want more people to be eligible for this treatment. However, up to 50 % who try TAI stop using it, many before it has had a chance to be effective. Also, the current solutions available in the market have been perceived difficult or even impossible to use if the user has reduced hand function. With our new system, our aim is that those who try TAI should be satisfied with, and stay with the therapy for a longer time.

Navina® Smart
Navina Smart enables patients to perform effective, individually tailored TAI themselves, or with help of their caregiver. The product is tailored to help overcome the physical and psychological barriers that limit the suitability of TAI for some users, or lead to non-compliance.
Navina Smart app
Navina Smart, together with the Navina Smart app, is designed to help increase the number of users who continue to use TAI over time to ensure treatment becomes successful.
The Navina Smart app guides the user and their healthcare professional to find the optimal treatment by pairing the user data with the user’s subjective judgments. The user data from the control unit of the system is transmitted to a mobile app via Bluetooth®. The user is then asked about the perceived quality of the treatment settings.
Navina Systems
Navina Systems is available in two different versions: Navina Smart featuring a control unit to be used together with Navina Smart app, and Navina Classic, a manually controlled version.
