A varsity football and soccer player in high school, Mark’s life was changed by an accident at the age of 18. Left a quadriplegic after his accident, Mark refused to let his situation drag him down. He went on to graduate from Georgia Tech, became a four-time quad rugby national champion, and in 2004 was named quad rugby player of the year. Mark was a member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. team at the 2004 Summer Paralympics, and the gold medal-winning team at the 2008 Games.

As we continue to speak to the people who make a real difference within Wellspect, we caught up with André Soma, who leads the Select Home Delivery customer care team.

We know that the production, transportation, and disposal of our products has an environmental impact and generates a significant amount of greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change. By working actively to reduce our climate impact, while also making sure we adapt to the existing medical guidelines, we are prepared to take on the challenge of developing a future climate-neutral product.

Wellspect Education is a part of our new service offering, Wellspect With You. An online learning tool for all healthcare professionals who want to develop, broaden or deepen their knowledge around bladder or bowel management, and for users and carers or anyone with an interest in the field of continence care to access training, resources and downloadable content. 

Wellspect has made a commitment to sustainability - but sustainability does not only refer to the critical initiatives we take at our production sites to minimize environmental impact. It also applies to the working conditions of our employees, the standards we demand of our partners, and the quality of life of our users. We spoke to Lucia in Italy about how these products have made a real difference to her quality of life.
